Sieving and separating plants
Binder provides sieving and separating systems for the most various applications. From freshly picked and cut leafy vegetables over dried herbs through to dried fruits and tuber vegetables. Binder also provides support in the selection and planning of suitable devices for your particular application.
A selection of the machines used is listed as follows:
- Leaf sorting machine
- Zigzag separating unit
- Sieving drum
- Vibration sieve
- Circular sieves
Leaf sorting machine
The stalks are separated from freshly cut leafy plants and medicinal herbs before further processing or they are divided into fractions cut to different sizes. Binder has developed the leaf sorting machine based on the air separation principle. The products can be passed on to the next processing step in connection with the BINDER collecting belt.
Main features of the leaf sorting machine:
Stable stainless steel frame construction made of tubular profiles with smooth, closed side panels with inspection and maintenance doors. The special design of the impeller ensures even air distribution over the entire width of the swivelling distribution grating. The horizontal air flow can be adjusted from outside via three mutually adapted flow flaps.
A swivelling distribution and intake rocker is integrated in the product feed station. The output is divided into three fractions. Binder has the right (further) conveying equipment for your application.
Zigzag separating unit
For the separation of the dry, ravelled leaves and stalks. But other products with different specific weights can also be separated using this technology.
The product is transferred via a rotary feeder into a vertical air shaft. Due to the special shape of the channel design, the lighter leaf parts are carried upwards in the air flow, separated from the air flow by a cyclone and discharged via a rotary feeder. The air flow is conveyed within the circulation system fully free from emissions.
If required, Binder supplies the entire plant, consisting of the actual zigzag separating unit, the high-performance ventilators, spacer wheel floodgates, air control devices, including an assembly platform and the electrical control unit.
A testing facility is available for your use at the Binder pilot plant.
Siebtrommel
Sieving drum
Binder has developed a special rotating drum-type sieve to separate fine dust and sand from various products. Equipped with a spraying bar on the inside of the drum, this machine is also used in the food industry for the treatment of raw materials.
The rotational speed and inclination, and therefore also the throughput capacity during operation are infinitely adjustable. For the food industry, the plant is made entirely of stainless steel. Depending on the material to be sieved, various sieve attachments such as e.g. wire mesh or perforated plates are used. Automatic cleaning of the sieving area using a rotating brush is available as an accessory. The sieved off fine fraction is collected in a large collecting basin.
Circular sieve
For the separation of ravelled and separated leafy products in up to 4 fractions.
The product to be separated is fed via the intake to sieves arranged on top of one another. Different mesh sizes for the individual fractions can be used if desired. The product is fed directed out via collecting channels.
Machine in solid design with dust-free closed sieving units. It is characterised by easy assembly and operation of the various sieves. The swivelling sieve movement is generated via a freely swivelling drive with lift setting.
Vibration sieve
Binder sieving machines are mainly used for food processing. Here they are frequently used before drying for mechanical dehydration or after drying food for the sieving off of non-standard fractions.
Depending on the material to be sieved, various sieve attachments such as e.g. wire mesh or perforated plates are used.
The drive is usually affected via vibration motor with infinitely adjustable centrifugal force setting. All parts coming into contact with the product are made of stainless steel. Highly elastic spring elements prevent the transmission of vibrations to the solid base frame.
Low cleaning and maintenance times and fast, problem-free sieve bottom changing are the special features of Binder vibration sieve bottoms.
