Drying plants

in stainless steel design for the food, chemicals and pharmacy industries
We build drying plants in various designs for the application desired:
Belt dryers for wet operation (washing zones, CIP-device and so on), shelf dryers and drying cabinets round off the production program.

Single-belt dryer, gas-tight design
General Features:

Among the possibilities of a thermal dehydration the HBM belt dryer excels by a careful and continuous dehydration of a variety of products. The different designs of the belt drier palette at Binder’s enable you to co-ordinate almost all physical parameters to the product to be dried. Drying temperature, processing time of the product as well as air velocity and direction of air are selected for each product by professional application.

Description of operating process air belt dryer:

The HBM belt dryer is a continuous convection dryer. The product to be dried is conveyed through the dryer case on a steel belt which can be aerated and is being treated with hot air during that time. A product layer that can well be aerated is precondition for this purpose. To obtain a homogenous product quality it is of essential importance how the product is being charged. Therefore the use of a charging system adjusted to the product is required.

Limits to the air belt dehydration:

For the application of an air belt dryer a product layer permeable to air is required on the transport belt. If this is not possible because of the product structure, i.e. the single part size of the product is not given as e.g. for pasty products, the product has to be granulated. If a product cannot be granulated the contact belt drier will be used.

Microwave technology

Further possibilities in the thermal processing technique are being offered by the microwave dehydration. In order to be able to heat materials with the help of microwaves these have to couple to the microwave, i.e. they have to absorb the microwave. This coupling depends among other factors on the product to be processed and its dielectric loss factor as well as the temperature. Combined with a variable pressure level even most difficult drying processes at a low temperature can be handled with this drying technology.

Application options of microwave technology

Heating, thawing, drying, tempering, sintering, calcinating, melting, sterilising belong to the application options of this technology.

With new methods of processing new products will be created!

The Paternoster Dryer

Very often the necessity of a product conserving convective dehydration results in a big drying surface. For this reason Messrs Hans Binder have developed the paternoster dryer as an alternative to the convective belt drier. With this application a big drying surface is being obtained on a relatively small basic space and thus also a bigger drying capacity. The special guide of air additionally enables a constant dehydration.

Pilot plant belt dryers and drying cabinets

For the product development and smaller production quantities Messrs Hans Binder produces pilot plant belt dryers and special drying cabinets. Together with the customer with these dryers a scale-up is often being carried out for the desired production unit. Our service team will gladly support you with expert advice.
